Position Summary

GoldenWolf is seeking a mid‑level Electrical Engineer with strong building electrical design experience to support commercial, institutional, and federal projects nationwide. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys variety—balancing Revit‑based electrical design with field assessments, QA/QC reviews, and client‑facing technical support.

You will work as part of a fully remote, multidisciplinary A/E team and play a key role in the growth of our Design Department. Daily work ranges from developing electrical design documents to performing field investigations, Facility Condition Assessments (FCAs), and third‑party design reviews for government clients.

Essential Functions

  • Design and document electrical systems for small to mid‑size building projects, including: 
    • Power distribution
    • Lighting systems
    • Low‑voltage and building controls (BAS)
  • Perform site visits across CONUS to assess existing conditions, troubleshoot system issues, and recommend upgrades
  • Develop technical deliverables such as: 
    • Load calculations
    • Single‑line diagrams
    • Panel schedules
    • Design narratives and scopes of work
  • Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, owners, and contractors as part of integrated A/E teams
  • Perform owner‑representative / third‑party QA/QC electrical reviews (AE3‑style reviews) for government and institutional clients
  • Support infrastructure planning and electrical upgrades for federal and commercial facilities
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC, NFPA, IBC, IECC, and applicable local codes
Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET‑accredited)
  • 3–6 years of experience in building electrical design (AEC environment)
Technical Skills

  • Revit proficiency (required; used daily)
  • Experience producing electrical construction documents
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC (2020 preferred) and related codes
  • Ability to work independently across multiple project types
Software & Tools

  • Revit (required)
  • Bluebeam (required)
  • Microsoft Word (technical narratives, reports, proposals)
  • AutoCAD (nice to have)
Professional Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication for client‑ready deliverables
  • Comfortable working in a remote, fast‑moving environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting workloads
  • Team‑oriented, proactive, and self‑directed
Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel approximately 25–35%
  • Ability to obtain a Tier 3 Security Clearance (CAC Card)
  • PE license or EIT actively pursuing licensure (ability to obtain PE within ~1 year if not already licensed)
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with: 
    • Building Automation Systems (BAS)
    • DDC controls or PLC‑based systems
    • Emergency or standby power systems
  • Federal or government project experience
  • Certifications such as: 
    • LEED Green Associate
    • Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
    • OSHA 30
